At the Pet Resource Center of Kansas City, we're dedicated to providing accessible and affordable veterinary services to the Greater Kansas City community. As a trusted resource for over 20 years, we're committed to ending pet homelessness and increasing pet retention. We're now seeking a compassionate and skilled Veterinary Technician to join our team and help us make a difference in the lives of animals and their owners.As a Veterinary Technician at our organization, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional care to our patients and their families. Your responsibilities will include assessing treatment needs, identifying barriers, and providing direct services through customer service excellence, compassion, and assisting in veterinary care. You will work closely with our veterinary team to provide safe, timely, effective, efficient, equitable, and client-centered care to over 35,000 pets annually.Your key responsibilities will include:• Providing compassionate care to patients and performing duties in accordance with clinic policies and procedures• Assisting in physical examinations, medical, surgical, and dental procedures, and preparing patients for surgery• Administering medications, monitoring patients during surgery and recovery, and maintaining accurate records• Developing and maintaining relationships with clients, volunteers, and staff, and serving as an educational resource for pet owners and families• Identifying barriers, assessing client needs, and providing consultation, support, and direct assistance to pet owners• Maintaining a clean and sanitary work environment, ensuring compliance with OSHA, safety, HIPAA, and confidentiality regulationsWe're looking for a candidate with:• Extensive experience in the veterinary industry and a firm grasp on animal handling• Compassion for pets and people, high energy, and a passion for customer service• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment• Confidence in decision-making and experience in handling difficult clients or situations with a calm and kind demeanor• Bilingual skills are a plusIn return for your skills and experience, we offer a competitive salary range of $16-18 per hour, depending on experience, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including:• Health, dental, vision, and life benefits options• 3 weeks paid annual leave with flexible scheduling ability• Paid holidays• 401k• A $500 sign-on bonus after 90 daysIf you're a dedicated and compassionate veterinary professional looking to make a difference in the lives of animals and their owners, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.
