Position Summary:Do you love creating TikToks, Reels and Shorts? University Marketing and Communications is hiring a Social Media Content Creator to create original, engaging and high-quality videos for the University’s social media accounts.As part of University Marketing and Communications, the Social Media Content Creator will support the Associate Director of Social Media in enhancing the brand and national reputation of the University of Dayton. With a focus on video, the position will create original, engaging and high-quality TikToks, Reels, Shorts and videos for social media.The Social Media Content Creator is responsible for planning, filming and editing raw footage to develop compelling and concise video content (TikToks, Reels, Shorts, etc.) for various social media platforms; staying up-to-date with popular video trends on social media, and pitching ideas that are adapted for the University’s brand.Rooted in our Catholic, Marianist traditions, University Marketing and Communications is committed to inclusion and belonging. This position assists in authentically and intentionally representing all members of the UD community in our publications and posts.Hybrid work arrangement is available (three days per week on campus in Dayton, Ohio; two days per week remote).Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree or associate’s degree and two years of relevantexperience.Experience in creating on-brand video content for a business, organization or other entity on social media.Effective collaboration skills.Proven experience in taking initiative, meeting deadlines and shepherding projects from concept to completion.Ability to plan, film and edit raw footage into compelling and concise video content.Preferred Qualifications:While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:Two years of experience in videography and/or content creation.Deep understanding of in-app creator tools across social platforms, and experience with Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Lightroom and Photoshop.Demonstrated ability to follow social media trends and implement a social media campaign.Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to make community members feel comfortable and confident in front of the camera.Experience in managing and maintaining an organized video library.Special Instructions to Applicants:To apply please submit a cover letter addressing each minimumqualificationand any applicable preferred qualifications that you meet.Resume/Curriculum Vitae that includes experience, education, etc.A portfolio with at least 3 examples of videos you have produced, filmed and edited, preferably with links to these projects posted on social media.
