WHO YOU’LL WORK WITHThe Jordan Footwear Materials Development team sits within Jordan Product Creation and drives materials and product excellence for the entire footwear portfolio. In this role you will be a dedicated teammate for the Jordan Sport Promo Footwear business where you will partner closely with Product Development, CGM Design, Product Design, Product Engineering, Cost Engineering, Product Testing, our overseas Partner Management Offices, Materials Planning & Supply Chain to deliver the successful creation of on-time, scalable, high-quality, high-performing footwear products and material solutions for some of the greatest athletes and biggest sport moments in the world. This role reports into the Senior Manager, Sport Footwear Materials Development.WHO WE ARE LOOKING FORWe are seeking a talented, passionate, team-oriented, and influential Senior Material Developer for our Jordan Footwear team with the technical expertise to help drive product excellence through the lens of materials. You will drive Jordan Brand’s Sport Promo footwear product forward by providing tools, palettes, and data across multiple material types to enable effective material selection and creation for sport specific end-uses. You'll present information, data and solutions clearly, keeping sport and consumer top of mind, so the team can make informed decisions and deliver manufacturing success at scale.• Demonstrates a strong technical expertise and understanding of raw material manufacturing and supply chains for various material types, including fibers, textiles, leathers, synthetic leathers, films and components.• Balances creativity and footwear acumen to optimize material performance, design intent, product excellence and on-time delivery.• Leads with curiosity, adaptability and a growth mindset.• Excels in collaboration, communication, inspiring and influencing across global teams in a fast-paced, cross-functional team environment.WHAT YOU BRING• Bachelor's degree in Materials, Chemistry or related field preferred or will accept any suitable combination of education, experience and training• Minimum 3 years' professional experience in materials development, manufacturing or engineering or similar• Deep understanding of various material type and manufacturing processes is required• Ability to translate lab testing results for end-use application• Ability to interpret design intent, offer alternative solutions, and clearly translate the development requests to Nike’s supplier base and factory partners.• Strong communication, influence and leadership skills• Ability to anticipate needs, mitigate risks, and solve problems• Attention to detail, active follow-through, assertiveness, self-motivation and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.• Ability to balance multiple competing projects and independently manage workload• Solid digital literacy with working knowledge of MS office software; material management systems experience preferred• Ability to travel up to 15% of the time• #MYNEXT: Be Empowered to Grow within Nike and Create the FutureWHAT YOU’LL WORK ONAs a member of the Jordan Materials Development team, you will be responsible for driving functional excellence with a sharp focus on the execution of aesthetic, performance, quality, cost, and sustainability of footwear materials. Materials Development collaborates with vendors, design, product creation, sourcing and other functions to establish seasonal material direction, attain on-time delivery, and ensure product excellence for both consumers and athletes. The successful candidate will also drive adherence to the product creation calendar to ensure seasonal materials are developed, tested and commercialized on time.• You’ll partner with the Product Creation team, tier 1 and tier 2 partners, to provide transparency and work closely on identifying solutions when material issues or concerns arise.• You’ll partner with Materials, Color, Graphic and Product Design teams to ensure seasonal material developments are executed with the highest level of detail, collaborating to define and establish relevant and compelling storytelling and performance benefits for our athletes through premium quality product materialization executions.• You will drive and manage material data integrity through our product creation systems, ensuring the team is armed with the proper source base, price, performance, sustainability, delivery and production feasibility information.We offer a number of accommodations to complete our interview process including screen readers, sign language interpreters, accessible and single location for in-person interviews, closed captioning, and other reasonable modifications as needed.
