Job no: R-0000002787 Position Title: Seasonal Admission Application Reader Faculty or Staff: Staff Full Time or Part Time: Part time In-Person, Hybrid, or Remote: Remote Minimum Starting Rate of Pay: $23.58 Rate of pay commensurate with experience Start Date: 11/14/2025 Job Description: The Mount Holyoke College Office of Admission is seeking application readers for the 2025-2026 reading cycle. These part-time, temporary positions assists in the holistic review of the first year application. Readers will be assigned to a “partner review” team for the domestic pool, and will complete a short written summary of each application. Application components include the main application, a Mount Holyoke Supplement, teacher recommendations, transcript, school report, interview report, and other documents submitted. All reading and review is web-based and completed on our CRM, Slate. The projected time commitment is as follows: one day of training in early December 2025 10-15 hours per week December 8-19 18-24 hours per week January 5 - February 20 10-12 hours per week February 23 - March 13 The reading schedule is fixed at 4 days per week (typically Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays) from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm and 1:00 - 4:00 pm ET. There is the option for very slight variations of this schedule. Readers will complete technical training on navigating the web-based reading software (Slate) and on the criteria used in the overall evaluation process. These training sessions are mandatory and will take place in early December. Application readers will be asked to sign a confidentiality agreement. Compensation is commensurate with experience and ranges from $21-26/hour. Qualifications for domestic application review: Bachelor’s degree required, plus 2-3 years of graduate school or professional work experience. College admission experience is strongly preferred. Understanding of a liberal arts education is preferred. Experience handling sensitive and confidential information with discretion. Well-developed computer skills and solid writing and analytical abilities. Access to high-speed internet and a private reading space (required) Attention to detail and strong organizational and time management skills. We are looking for candidates who can read carefully and efficiently. An understanding of the values of equity and inclusion and sensitivity to the experiences of underrepresented students.
