OverviewThis is a remote role that may be hired in several markets across the United States.The Credit Portfolio Analytics & Reporting group is responsible for providing actionable, data-driven insights to help Credit Administration (Second Line of Defense) and Loan Administration (First Line of Defense) understand, evaluate, predict, and report inherent & emergent risk within the Commercial Banking Segment of First Citizens Bank.We seek an Advisory & Solutions Analyst whose primary focus is to support delivery of solutions that are based upon a wide range of use-cases. More specifically, this individual will be a critical pillar of a larger team that is tasked with developing content to empower our stakeholders with a deep understanding of the underlying business units.This position performs advanced data analysis to identify factors that affect business profitability, growth, efficiency, and credit quality. The individual should be able to assess current practices, collect information, identify industry trends, and create specifications to support business operations and determine improvements or solutions to address any identified issues. Responsibilities would also include preparing technical reports by examining and summarizing data and sufficiently document the processes.ResponsibilitiesProviding support to deliver solutions including, but not limited to:• Participating in detailed business requirements gathering• Translation of business requirements into technical specifications• Assisting with data identification, data analysis, and data profiling• Partnering with the Credit Data & Credit Systems Teams to procure data• Helping with development of dashboards in accordance with approved requirements• Making iterative enhancements to dashboards & solutions based on stakeholder feedback• Supporting the productionalization & maintenance of a portfolio of dashboardsPartnering with the Senior Analysts & Advisors to become deeply engaged with the Business Segments and Lines of Defense which will allow for creation of relevant & meaningful analytical content for stakeholder consumption. Creating a “trusted advisor” atmosphere and brand.Assisting with ad-hoc analyses when applicable and presenting results in a clear & concise manner that stakeholders and end users can understand and use.Developing and maintaining areas of technical knowledge and expertise, engaging with other team members in project reviews and technical consultations.Continuously enhance knowledge & skills regarding analytical tools, techniques, and methodologies.Looking for opportunities to enhance our current analytical capabilities and develop new analytics products.Managing workload in accordance with priorities to deliver quality, timely results.Establishing effective, cross-functional relationships to enable successful collaboration & thought-sharing.Promoting a positive work environment that embraces FCBs Culture and Values.QualificationsBachelor's Degree and 2 years of experience in Risk Analytics or Analytics OR High School Diploma or GED and 6 years of experience in Risk Analytics or Analytics• Command understanding of Tableau Desktop, Tableau Server, and Business Intelligence Methodologies & Best Practice.• Experience in transforming business specifications and requirements into well documented processes (user and technical documentation).• Ability to frame business questions in data and analytical terms and translate analytical results into business terms.• Foundational or better SQL skills and solid understanding of relational databases and data models.• Experience creating data pipelines using Python, SQL, and/or Alteryx to produce compelling visualizations using Tableau in the event data elements are not readily available in a reporting layer environment.• Experience with data cleansing and testing.• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.• Demonstrated ability to self-manage and multitask in a dynamic, ever-changing environment. This includes flexibility to work/manage variety of projects as priority dictates.• Solid communication skills and ability to build relationships and work with stakeholders from across the organization.• Undergraduate degree or technical equivalent.• 5+ years of experience in analytics and/or business intelligence field.Preferred Qualifications• Tableau Specialist Certification and/or Tableau Desktop Associate Certification• Professional certifications for SQL and/or Python• Alteryx Designer Certifications (Core, Advanced, or Expert)• Experience with Microsoft Power BI• Background in Banking/Finance industryThis job posting is expected to remain active for 5 days from the initial posting date listed above.
