Job Overview I am seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Therapist (Clinical Social Worker) to join my team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality therapeutic services to individuals, focusing on a range of mental health issues. My practice specializes in therapy for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder, so experience with this is preferred. This role requires a strong background in various therapeutic modalities and the ability to work collaboratively with clients to develop effective treatment plans. The therapist will be responsible for delivering care that adheres to ethical standards and best practices in the field of mental health.This is a part time position. Employee must see at least 6 clients a week minimum, however as long as this minimum is met you can determine your own hours.Duties• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and diagnostic evaluations to determine appropriate treatment plans and diagnoses.• Provide individual counseling sessions utilizing techniques such as cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, and motivational interviewing.• Offer specialized care for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder if needed. Not all clients have ASD.• Implement crisis intervention strategies as needed and manage cases involving patients with developmental disabilities, PTSD care, Autism, and other mental health challenges. You will not be required to provide on call support.• Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations, including intake forms, treatment notes, and progress reports.• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure holistic patient care, including parents, doctors, and/or home & community care experience when necessary.• Engage in clinical research activities as needed, including data collection and analysis related to patient outcomes.• Support patients through crisis management situations while providing empathetic support during difficult times.• Stay updated on medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9 & ICD-10), CPT coding, and other relevant documentation practices.Experience• A Master’s degree or higher in Social Work is required.• Licensed Clinical Social Worker in DC and Virginia at minimum.• Proven experience in mental health counseling with a focus on individual therapy settings.• Familiarity with EMR systems for efficient patient record management and/or familiar with technology.• Experience working with autism, adolescents, and adults is highly desirable; experience in special education is a plus.• Background in a clinical environment is preferred.• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations, including individuals with autism or other disabilities.
