Join our growing team as a Medical Billing and Payment Specialist, where your expertise helps ensure timely billing, accurate payment posting, and smooth revenue cycle operations — all while working remotely in a supportive, collaborative environment.About the Role: As a Medical Billing and Payment Specialist, you’ll be responsible for preparing and submitting insurance claims, posting payments, reconciling accounts, and resolving discrepancies to maintain a healthy revenue cycle. This role requires accuracy, communication, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.Key Responsibilities• Prepare and submit accurate insurance claims in a timely manner• Post patient and insurance payments to the correct accounts• Review and process EOBs and ERAs, ensuring accurate payment application• Research and resolve payment discrepancies, denials, and unpaid claims• Follow up on outstanding A/R and communicate with payers to secure payment• Navigate insurance portals to verify claim status and retrieve remittance• Collaborate with billing and coding teams to improve accuracy and efficiency• Communicate clearly with team members and management regarding claim or payment issues.Qualifications• Minimum 5 years of experience in medical billing and payment posting (preferred)• Knowledge of EOBs, ERAs, ICD-10, CPT, and insurance billing processes• Must live in the US.• Experience with Medicare, Medicaid, and Managed Care claims and denials• Strong understanding of insurance correspondence and payer portals• Excellent attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (formulas, tables, graphs)• Strong written and verbal communication skills• High School Diploma or equivalent requiredEducation & Experience• High School Diploma or equivalent required• Candidates without a degree must have a minimum of five (5) years of direct experience in medical billing and payment posting.Preferred Qualification:• Associate Degree in Healthcare Administration, Medical Billing & Coding, Accounting, Finance, Health Information Technology, or related field, and at least two (2) years of experience• Preferred experience in Urgent Care or Mobile Imaging setting• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Health Administration, Finance, or related field, and at least two (2) years of experience• Formal training or certification in Medical Billing, Coding (CPC, CCS, etc.), or Revenue Cycle Management (AHIMA, AAPC, etc.), with continuing education in reimbursement and compliance, and a minimum of two (2) years of experience as a Medical Billing and Payment SpecialistWhat We Offer• Remote position – work comfortably from home• Full-time schedule: Monday–Friday, with occasional weekends as needed• Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance• 401(k) retirement plan• Paid time off (PTO) and holidays• Supportive, team-oriented culture with opportunities for growth!Job Type: Full-timeExpected hours: 40 per weekBenefits:• 401(k)• 401(k) matching• Dental insurance• Employee assistance program• Health insurance• Life insurance• Paid time off• Retirement plan• Vision insuranceWork Location: Remote
