Position Overview:We are seeking an experienced, highly motivated and organized individual to join our team as a Freight Broker. As a Freight Broker, you will play a crucial role in connecting shippers with carriers to facilitate the transportation of goods efficiently and cost-effectively. Your excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to negotiate and build relationships will be essential in successfully fulfilling this role.Responsibilities:Establish and Maintain Relationships: Build and maintain relationships with shippers and carriers, including negotiating rates, terms, and conditions for freight transportation services.Freight Matching: Match available freight shipments with qualified carriers, considering factors such as equipment type, capacity, and geographic location to ensure efficient and timely delivery.Carrier Selection: Conduct thorough screening and due diligence of carriers, including verifying their operating authority, insurance coverage, and safety records, to ensure compliance with industry regulations and quality standards.Freight Management: Coordinate and manage the movement of freight from pick-up to delivery, ensuring all necessary documentation, permits, and customs requirements are properly handled.Rate Negotiation: Negotiate competitive rates with carriers while maintaining profitability for the company and offering cost-effective solutions to shippers.Problem Solving: Address and resolve any issues or delays that may arise during the transportation process, providing timely updates and alternative solutions to shippers and carriers.Documentation and Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of all transactions, including freight contracts, carrier agreements, billing information, and any other relevant documentation.Market Research: Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory changes that may impact freight transportation, enabling you to provide up-to-date information and insights to clients.Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service to both shippers and carriers, promptly responding to inquiries, resolving complaints, and ensuring overall satisfaction.Qualifications:Experience: Previous experience in freight brokerage, logistics, or a related field is highly desirable, although we also welcome candidates with a strong interest in the industry and a willingness to learn.Knowledge: Familiarity with transportation and logistics concepts, including freight modes, shipping regulations, and carrier operations.
