As a key member of our Advanced Analytics family, you will work closely with Product and Business leaders to provide data thought partnership, drive day-to-day product analytics, and identify areas for improvement in our traveling and hosting experiences. Your expertise will enable data-informed decisions, inform product development, and enhance our overall guest and host community experiences.The Difference You Will Make• Serve as a data thought partner to product and business leaders across marketplace teams, providing insights, recommendations, and enabling data-informed decisions.• Drive day-to-day product analytics and create scalable data tools to support business decisions.• Identify pain points in traveling and hosting and work with product leadership to improve experiences for our guest and host community.• Build metrics and dimensions in our data warehouse to support business decisions and inform product development.• Collaborate with Product Managers and Business leads to design, execute, and evaluate A/B tests, understanding common pitfalls and caveats of experimentation.A Typical Day in This RoleA typical day as a Lead, Advanced Analytics, Aircover will involve a range of activities, including:• Building metrics and dimensions in our data warehouse to support business decisions and inform product development.• Working closely with Product Managers and Business leads to design, execute, and evaluate A/B tests, understanding common pitfalls and caveats of experimentation.• Defining how to best measure the performance of Airbnb products and business through new metrics and dimensions, aligning with stakeholders, understanding tradeoffs and guardrails, and prototyping metrics through custom data pipelines.• Empowering the team to answer data questions quickly and easily by building high-quality ground truth data sets and dashboards, and collaborating with Product Engineering to spec out logging and with Analytics Engineering to build data tools for mass consumption within Airbnb.Your Expertise and QualificationsTo be successful in this role, you will have:• 5+ years of industry experience and a degree (Masters or PhD is a plus) in a quantitative field (e.g., Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Data Science, Operations Research).• Expert communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal teams in a cross-cultural and cross-functional environment, and conduct rigorous analysis and communicate conclusions to both technical and non-technical audiences.• Experience partnering with internal teams to drive action and providing expertise and direction on analytics, data science, experimental design, and measurement.• Experience in analysis of A/B experiments and statistical data analysis.• Experience designing and building metrics, from conception to building prototypes with data pipelines.• Strong knowledge in at least one programming language (Python or R) and in SQL.• Ability to drive data strategies, with a central source of truth to impact business decisions.• Knowledge and experience in the insurance industry - a plus.• Knowledge and experience in customer experience measurement - a plus.Skills and Competencies Required for SuccessIn addition to the qualifications listed above, you will have:• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively.• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.• Ability to drive data-informed decisions and inform product development.• Strong knowledge of data visualization tools and techniques.• Experience with cloud-based data platforms and tools.• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.Career Growth Opportunities and Learning BenefitsAt Airbnb, we are committed to the growth and development of our employees.
