Grow. with us.To save time applying, Toyota does not offer sponsorship of job applicants for employment-based visas or any other work authorization for this position at this time.Who we’re looking forToyota’s Carbon Neutrality & Regulatory Affairs Division is looking for a passionate and highly-motivated Regulatory Implementation Senior Engineer – Core Products.The primary responsibility of this role is to coordinate sharing of regulatory requirements and compliance confirmation activities for TMNA’s automotive on-road product portfolio for North America.Reporting to the Senior Manager of Core Products Regulatory Implementation, the person in this role will support the Regulatory Implementation department's objective to assure regulatory expertise, compliance validation and certification of TMNA’s core product market of on-road passenger vehicles and trucks sold in North America.What you’ll be doingMaintain and oversee regulatory, compliance, and certification infrastructure for Core TMNA products, including but not limited to:• Manage distribution of applicable regulation information, regulatory movement announcements, and regulatory phase-in planning information.• Oversee regulatory compliance confirmation activities for the relevant responsible groups within TMNA R&D and consolidating compliance check results for acceptance by project management team (“Z groups”).• Serve as one of Toyota’s regulatory subject matter experts, especially for Federal & Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (F(C)MVSS), advising a wide variety of internal stakeholder functions.• Support the development of regulatory interpretations for applicable products as requested by R&D.• Utilize existing Toyota tools to support R&D with robust compliance assurance and certification processes.• Collaborate with the Core Products Principal Engineer to provide input regarding key compliance milestones and product development schedules.• Support regular technical and regulatory meetings with project management and design groups within TMNA R&D to ensure key compliance and certification milestones and deliverables are met as planned.• Develop and maintain operating procedures and work instructions for critical processes embedded in our existing regulatory infrastructure.• Ability to represent our division to stakeholders across TMNA-R&D and TMC.What you bring• Bachelor's degree (or higher) in related engineering discipline or related field; AND/OR commensurate experience.• 5+ years of related regulatory & certification experience.• Hands-on experience with reading and understanding regulatory text & interpretations.• Ability to manage multiple simultaneous separate activities with various inputs and outputs on schedule.• Full capability in MS Office suite.• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships as well as influence stakeholders to prioritize and achieve common goals.Added bonus if you have• Experience with on-road automotive regulations such as FMVSS.• Skill with automation tools such as Power Automate or similar.• Master’s degree in engineering or related field.• Bilingual skills.What we’ll bringDuring your interview process, our team can fill you in on all the details of our industry-leading benefits and career development opportunities.
