You will work closely with the Art Department, Design, Modeling, Look Development, and Lighting teams to deliver high-quality, visually breathtaking shots that meet the creative vision of our Production Architects.Key Responsibilities• Execute layered, pre-lit, view-dependent paintings seamlessly integrated with fully CG environments• Collaborate with climate teams and Production Architects to intricately expand environments digitally for our projects• Create foundations, scenes, and environments in a 3D world using digital rendering and painting programs like Maya, Photoshop, Nuke, Houdini, Clarisse, and more• Interpret art direction and extrapolate creative vision into adapted yet reasonable final images• Support the technical aspects of the work produced• Work closely with multiple departments to achieve the final shot• Deliver detailed frames to the lighting department• Participate in iterative work processes, taking direction effectively and contributing as a member of a highly collaborative teamEssential QualificationsTo be considered for this role, you must have:• A four-year college degree or equivalent experience• Professional experience in a related field, with activity experience preferred• A high skill level in painting, composition, perspective, and color theory• A strong understanding of 2.5D workflow with multiple projection cameras and broad knowledge of both 2D and 3D workflows and mindsets• Excellent creative abilities with a willingness to master new workflows• Broad knowledge of Mac OSX and Linux and programs like Photoshop, Maya, Nuke, and various renderers• The ability to work iteratively in a fluid and fast-paced environment, taking direction effectively and participating as a member of a highly collaborative teamPreferred QualificationsWhile not essential, the following qualifications are highly desirable:• Secondary art skills or a generalist background• Broad knowledge of real-world lighting and materials• A background in custom drawing and painting• A comprehensive understanding of shot and painting organization, with ideal knowledge of cinematography• A strong comprehension of photography and its terminology• The ability to tackle complex problems in a highly creative mannerWhat We OfferAt Disney, we offer a competitive compensation package, with a salary of $32-$35 per hour.
