In this role, you'll have the chance to envision, create, and maintain end-to-end customer experiences for our consumer-facing products and services. You'll provide direction to the team, mentor junior designers, and collaborate with partners in product, technology, and business to drive design solutions that meet our customers' needs. If you're a talented designer with a passion for innovation and customer experience, we want to hear from you.Key Responsibilities• Envision, create, and maintain end-to-end customer experiences for consumer-facing products and services• Provide direction to the team and mentor junior designers in areas of expertise• Collaborate with partners in product, technology, and business to drive design solutions• Actively explore user context and engage in target user activities to gain insights and inform design decisions• Participate in insight-gathering activities and create design solutions that leverage user insights• Stay updated on industry trends, competitive products, and topics related to customer experience• Effectively design solutions within Verizon's business context and revenue model• Maintain a working knowledge of UI standards for common platforms (iOS, Android, Web)• Communicate the current project plan, goals, and expected outcomes to stakeholders• Articulate user, business, and/or technical reasoning for detailed design decisions in critiques or presentations• Lead a cross-disciplinary team, including agency partners, in problem-solving and design activities• Ensure the use of shared tools and systems to shape design solutions• Build an understanding of related tools and software impacting end-product (i.e., CMS, sales tools, etc.)• Identify, escalate, and help remove impediments that keep the team from being productive• Make partners stronger by teaching design-led processes and best practices• Seek opportunities to contribute thought leadership to the broader design communityEssential Qualifications• Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience• Six or more years of relevant work experience in experience design or a related field• Experience with Agile software delivery environments• Experience with common design software (Figma, Adobe, etc.)• Willingness to travel up to approximately 25% of the timePreferred Qualifications• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Design• Portfolio of professional work that demonstrates expertise in experience design• Experience with Digital Product Design in a retail environment• Contributed to multiple design programs or shipped products with a large user base• Contributed to overall product success• Experience with Fortune 500 organizational environmentsSkills and Competencies• Strong understanding of customer experience principles and human-centered design• Excellent communication and collaboration skills• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills• Ability to articulate design decisions and rationale to stakeholders• Experience with design tools and software, including Figma, Adobe, and other industry-standard tools• Strong understanding of UI standards and best practices for common platforms (iOS, Android, Web)• Ability to lead and mentor junior designers and cross-disciplinary teamsCareer Growth Opportunities and Learning BenefitsAt Verizon, we're committed to helping our employees grow and develop in their careers.
