As a Program Coordinator, Writing Tutor, you will be part of a team that is committed to fostering a culture of inclusivity, equity, and academic excellence.Job OverviewUnder the direction of the department manager, the Program Coordinator, Writing Tutor will plan, design, evaluate, modify, and coordinate writing support for UC Clermont Learning Commons. This is a remote opportunity, and the successful candidate will work from home, providing on-campus and virtual writing tutoring and support services to students.Key Responsibilities* Provide on-campus and virtual writing tutoring and support services for all subjects to students from a variety of backgrounds and levels of preparation.* Design, create, and conduct seminars and workshops related to writing tutoring and writing support.* In conjunction with program supervisor, develop writing tutoring program objectives.* Collect and monitor program data, track weekly usage, identify problems and solutions, develop clear goals and action steps for program enhancement.* Collect and monitor quantitative and qualitative data related to writing support usage.* Manage online platforms for writing tutoring, including Learning Management System (Catalyst), TracCloud, scheduling, video conferencing, and tutoring platforms.* Develop, administer, and analyze assessment/evaluation surveys.* Compile statistics and prepare reports.* Plan, create, and implement marketing strategies to engage students in writing tutoring, promote class supports to faculty, and increase usage rates.* Interact with faculty, staff, and other UC departments.* Collaborate with UC Learning Commons for writing tutoring consistency across services.* Educate, communicate, liaise, and perform outreach about writing tutoring and UC Clermont Learning Commons services to students, faculty, staff, and other college stakeholders.* Make presentations about UC Clermont Learning Commons services and participate in campus events such as Fall Fest, Open House, etc.* In conjunction with program supervisor, support the design and development of asynchronous resources and services.* Support other academic support and writing tutoring projects as needed.Essential Qualifications* Bachelor's degree in English or other Liberal Arts area.* Five (5) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.* One (1) year of program coordination experience.* Excellent command of written and spoken English.* Friendly and approachable for students.* Patient with good listening skills and the ability to work well in teams.* Experience with college student population, including first-generation and post-traditional populations, and tutor program development.Preferred Qualifications* One (1) year of tutoring or teaching writing in a two-year college environment.* One (1) year of program coordination experience.* Experience with online tutoring services, Canvas LMS, Internet, Microsoft 365, Teams, and Zoom.Technical Skills* Experience with and knowledge of online tutoring services, Canvas LMS, Internet, Microsoft 365, Teams, and Zoom.Physical Requirements/Work Environment* Office environment/no specific unusual physical or environmental demands.Compensationand Benefits* UC offers a wide array of complementary and affordable benefit options, to meet the financial, educational, health, and wellness needs of you and your family.
