The successful candidate will report to the Director of Peer Connections and will be responsible for developing and implementing tutoring services that support student transition and retention. This is a full-time, remote position that requires a strong background in program coordination, tutoring, and student services.Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Program Coordinator for Tutoring Services, you will be responsible for:* Assisting with the development, planning, coordination, and assessment of the tutoring program* Staying informed through higher education literature and research regarding retention and institutional policies and procedures* Collaborating with campus entities on events that promote tutoring and academic success* Reviewing and updating documentation for peer educators to be used during training and as resources throughout the year* Collaborating with other departments and colleges to provide effective learning assistance and representing Peer Connections as requested on committees and related activities that focus on tutoring issues* Supporting the Program Director with recruitment, hiring, training, directing, supervision, and evaluation of undergraduate and graduate student interns* Collaborating to design and implement tutor training that meets International Standards of the College, Reading, and Learning Association (CRLA) including theoretical and practical applications* Assisting the coordination of the CRLA International Tutor Training program certification for Peer Connections* Monitoring and managing student employee work hours to ensure they are not exceeding allowable work hours in a week* Supporting the coordination of the department's use of EAB (Spartan Connect) for scheduling, tutoring, and reporting* Receiving, processing, and directing all communications (mail, email, phone calls) to appropriate persons in the unit or to other departments* Collecting, analyzing, and maintaining data to be used for statistical reporting for the Program Director* Assisting in the development of culturally appropriate and accessible marketing and publicity materials such as flyers, emails, newsletters, posters, presentations, brochures, videos, websites, and social media platforms* Writing, editing, and managing tutoring content on center website and social media platformsEssential QualificationsTo be successful in this role, you will need:* Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university in one of the behavioral sciences, public or business administration, or a job-related field* Two years of professional experience in one of the student services program areas or in a related field* A master's degree in a job-related field may be substituted for one year of professional experiencePreferred QualificationsWe are particularly interested in candidates with:* A master's degree* Experience with tutoring on a college campus* Experience working with a diverse student populationSkillsand CompetenciesTo excel in this role, you will need:* Ability to communicate with constituents in a professional and respectful manner* Ability to acquire knowledge of organizational procedures and activities of the department* Ability to create and facilitate student development and study skill programming* Ability to develop and deliver appropriate learning support strategies* Ability to work as a team collaboratively* Knowledge of English grammar, business writing, punctuation, spelling* Clear written and oral communication* General knowledge of university methods, procedures, and practices* Ability to create and facilitate programs that are responsive to a diverse and multicultural environment* Knowledge of the principles of individual and group behavior* General knowledge of individual counseling techniques* Knowledge and understanding of the various technology platforms used in the University's online learning environmentCareer Growth Opportunities and Learning BenefitsAs a Program Coordinator for Tutoring Services, you will have the opportunity to:* Develop your skills and expertise in program coordination, tutoring, and student services* Collaborate with a dynamic team of professionals dedicated to student success* Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities* Contribute to the development of culturally appropriate and accessible marketing and publicity materials* Represent Peer Connections on committees and related activities that focus on tutoring issuesWork Environment and Company CultureAs a remote employee, you will have the flexibility to work from the comfort of your own home.
