Your primary responsibilities will include:• Providing technical guidance and support to our maintenance teams, using your expertise to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues• Reviewing and analyzing mechanical and operational performance data to identify trends and areas for improvement• Coordinating with other teams and stakeholders to ensure seamless communication and collaboration• Developing and implementing plans to address maintenance issues and minimize downtime• Staying up-to-date with the latest industry developments, technologies, and best practices to continuously improve our maintenance operationsKey Responsibilities and AccountabilitiesSome of the key responsibilities and accountabilities of this role include:• Providing technical support and guidance to maintenance staff, including troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues• Managing the MEL/CDL/NEF/TAC process in accordance with the MOCPM• Coordinating field trips to non-maintenance stations and ensuring that all necessary preparations are made• Updating delay data and DMR entries for non-maintenance stations• Reviewing open non-routine maintenance items on assigned fleet(s) or system(s) and developing plans to resolve persistent aircraft issues• Monitoring system or engine performance/failure monitoring systems and writing follow-up items to ensure the effectiveness of corrective action• Maintaining an up-to-date list of aircraft status (ETR) and communicating ETR and MEL information to the appropriate IOC staffRequirements and QualificationsTo be successful in this role, you will need to meet the following requirements and qualifications:• Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g. aviation maintenance, engineering, or a similar field)• Minimum 3 years of experience in aviation maintenance, with a focus on commercial or military aircraft• F.A.A. Airframe and Powerplant license• Knowledge of MEL, ETOPS, and GPM• Ability to work rotating shifts and overtime, including nights, weekends, holidays, and days off• Ability to travel for support of unavailable aircraft• Report to work on a regular and timely basis• Must satisfy FAA criminal background checks to qualify for unescorted access privileges to airport security identification display areas (SIDA)• Must be able to pass our drug screening process• Must be able to obtain appropriate airport authority and/or US Customs security badgesPreferred Qualifications and SkillsWhile not required, the following qualifications and skills are preferred:• Extensive experience as a Maintenance Control Technician or in a similar role• Broad knowledge of aircraft systems and troubleshooting experience• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills• Ability to work independently and as part of a teamCareer Growth and Development OpportunitiesAt American Airlines, we are committed to helping our employees grow and develop in their careers.
