As an IT Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting our employees and ensuring the smooth operation of our systems. If you are a tech-savvy individual with a passion for problem-solving and a commitment to excellence, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.Key Responsibilities:• Provide technical support to employees, including software and hardware installations, upgrades, and troubleshooting• Resolve and close tickets/work orders supporting end-user desktops and peripherals• Answer customer service issues raised from the Helpdesk• Contribute to desktop projects (global installs/upgrades) as a project team member• Remotely diagnose and resolve requests using remote tools• Investigate and collaborate with other departments to assist with system-related issues• Document customer interactions in incident management system, including asset management• Recover data from hard disk drives or perform data migration• Support remote access for virtual private network as well as remote/broadband connectivity for workstations• Install and configure local and network-based printers• Perform preventative maintenance• Work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, and be available for on-call duties and travel as required• Follow management direction, adhering to IT policy and procedure• Demonstrate increasing levels of service and initiative, identify areas for technical and process improvement, and be effective at managing multiple simultaneous efforts• Perform other duties as assignedEssential Qualifications:To be considered for this role, you must possess the following essential qualifications:• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent work experience/training• At least 2 years of verifiable 'active' IT work experience supporting and resolving assorted PC desktop software and hardware issues• Hands-on experience supporting PCs in a Windows/TCPIP environment• General knowledge of all Windows-based operating systems, including Windows 10• Knowledge of workflow and with labeling systems• Ability to work independently and act in a collaborative, team-based environment• Ability to lift at least 50 lbsPreferred Qualifications:While not required, the following preferred qualifications will be considered an asset:• A+ certification• MCSE/MCP certification• Prior IT system experience in an airline/airport environmentSkills and Competencies:To be successful in this role, you must possess the following skills and competencies:• Strong technical skills, including knowledge of computer hardware, software, and networking systems• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues• Effective communication and customer service skills, with the ability to interact with employees at all levels• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on collaboration and teamwork• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines, with a strong focus on flexibility and responsivenessCareer Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits:At American Airlines, we are committed to the growth and development of our employees.
