This role will be part of our Collections & Recovery Analytics team, supporting Collections, Recovery, and Servicing solutions. The team is focused on improving Collections, Recovery, and Servicing Solutions performance by building Business Intelligence (BI) solutions to support Operations Leaders. This includes key performance indicators for cardholders and accounts, as well as metrics to support strategy development and execution.Job Summary/PurposeThe AVP, Exception & Control Reporting will provide technical expertise to professionals leveraging complex analytics to build and manage exception reporting as part of Synchrony Bank's collections process control efforts. This is a key support role for Synchrony's process owners universe, and the candidate will collaborate with process owners to understand the process and develop data solutions that help minimize operational and process risks. The candidate can expect to gain exposure by communicating and interacting with senior leaders of the organization across various initiatives; build functional capability and technical acumen through individual coaching and functional learning opportunities.Key Responsibilities• Responsible for managing an inventory of existing exception reports and leading efforts to build new exception reports.• Works with process owners to understand and document requirements for new exception and control reports.• Manages a work intake and prioritization process for new build projects.• Provides oversight on the quality of reports, addresses issues encountered, and develops new controls to improve the accuracy of reports.• Provides regular communication to stakeholders and manages formal reporting reviews.• Evaluates existing processes and directs automation, simplification, enhanced visualizations, and process improvement initiatives.• Provides mentoring and thought leadership on analytics best practices and procedures.• Leads/drives projects partnering with cross-functional teams.• Develops Advanced SAS and/or SQL code, visual basic macros for enhanced reporting and analytics.• Develops Business Intelligence accessible to multiple skill levels of users via Tableau, SAS BI, Business Objects.• Works on different projects simultaneously, of varying complexity and length. Establishing priorities and coordinating work.• Collaborates effectively across team sites to deliver on projects through appropriate management of time and resources.• Proactively manages efforts to maintain stakeholder satisfaction and quantify project benefits delivered.• Provides local mentoring/training/guidance to the technical staff. Works & Influences Senior Management on new tools/solutions built by the team.• Performs other duties and/or special projects as assigned.Required Skills/Knowledge• Bachelor's degree in any discipline or 4+ years of experience in Analytics domain or in lieu of a degree, 6+ years of experience in Analytics domain.• Minimum 4+ years of experience of advanced SQL or SAS (Must be able to code).• Minimum 4+ years of experience utilizing reporting tools and software for Business Intelligence: Tableau, Business Objects, SAS BI.• Minimum 4+ years of experience with Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint.• Need to have experience in working on various data warehouses like CDCI, PDR, RDW, COLLP, CLPB2 – For Internal Candidates.• Experience in utilizing Automation or Artificial Intelligence tools.• Strong English written/oral communication skills.• Able to work hours that compliment US.Desired Skills/Knowledge• At least 5 years in Consumer Credit environment and at least 3 years in a leadership role.• Deep experience with various Collections Regulatory Reporting / Process Controls / Surveillance.• Big-picture understanding of Collections & ability to communicate with business and technical stakeholders.• Experience in utilizing Automation or Artificial Intelligence tools.• Working Knowledge of R would be an added advantage.Eligibility Criteria• Bachelor's degree in any discipline or 4+ years of experience in Analytics domain or in lieu of a degree, 6+ years of experience in Analytics domain.• Minimum 4+ years of experience of advanced SQL or SAS (Must be able to code).Work TimingsThis role qualifies for Enhanced Flexibility and Choice offered in Synchrony India and will require the incumbent to be available between 06:00 AM Eastern Time – 11:30 AM Eastern Time (timings are anchored to US Eastern hours and will adjust twice a year locally). This window is for meetings with India and US teams. The remaining hours will be flexible for the employee to choose. Exceptions may apply periodically due to business needs.
