As a key member of our TechOps team, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our aircraft. This is an exciting opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, with the potential for career growth and advancement.Key Responsibilities• Assist Aircraft Maintenance Technicians (AMTs) in technical or non-technical functions related to aircraft interiors or other areas as needed.• Perform work activities in accordance with established laws, regulations, standards, safety protocols, and procedures to ensure safety of self and others.• Shadow AMTs to conduct inspections to locate damage, defects, or wear that may affect safety, reliability, or customer experience, reporting issues as appropriate.• Shadow AMTs to test machinery, mechanical equipment, components, and parts for defects to ensure proper functioning.• Work alongside AMTs to install, remove, or modify aircraft structures, systems, or components, following drawings, schematics, charts, engineering orders, and technical publications.• Work alongside AMTs to repair worn, defective, or damaged parts or components (e.g., seat gears, tray tables, wiring/electrical), using hand tools, gauges, and testing equipment.• Reads and interprets technical manuals and guidelines to perform inspections, installations, repairs, or other work activities.• Interprets and uses specifications, drawings, blueprints diagrams, schematics, or flow charts to determine operational methods or sequences and to complete work activities.• Research manuals, flight logs, or other technical resources to gather information needed to complete work activities.• Practices safety conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures.On-the-Job TrainingAs an Apprentice Aircraft Support Mechanic, you'll receive comprehensive on-the-job training that will provide you with practical experience and hands-on skills in the following areas:• Aircraft maintenance and repair procedures• Aircraft systems and components• Technical manuals and guidelines• Specifications, drawings, and blueprints• Flight logs and technical resources• Safety protocols and proceduresRequirementsTo be considered for this role, you'll need to meet the following requirements:• Be at least 18 years of age and have authorization to work in the United States.• Possess a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.• Embraces a diverse set of people, thinking, and styles.• Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.• Currently attend a partnered 147 Accredited school.• Must be in the last semester of completion for FAA Airframe and Powerplant certificate program.• Must successfully pass a class required Assessment.• Must be enrolled in one of Delta's 147 A&P partnered schools.Preferred QualificationsWhile not required, the following qualifications will give you a competitive edge:• Previous experience in aircraft maintenance or repair.• Knowledge of aircraft systems and components.• Experience with technical manuals and guidelines.• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.Benefits and PerksAs a Delta Air Lines employee, you'll enjoy a range of benefits and perks that will help you keep climbing:• Competitive salary, industry-leading profit-sharing program, and performance incentives.• 401(k) with generous company contributions up to 3%.• Paid time off, including paid personal time.• Domestic and International space-available flight privileges for employees and eligible family members.• Career development programs to achieve your long-term career goals.• World-wide partnerships to engage in community service and innovative goals created to focus on sustainability and reducing our carbon footprint.• Business Resource Groups created to connect employees with common interests to promote inclusion, provide perspective, and help implement strategies.• Recognition rewards and awards through the platform Unstoppable Together.• Access to over 500 discounts and specialty savings through Deltaperks, such as car and hotel rentals, discounts on tickets, and more.Work Environment and CultureAs a Delta Air Lines employee, you'll be part of a dynamic and inclusive team that values diversity, equity, and inclusion.
