If you're passionate about making a difference in the lives of students with special needs, we encourage you to apply for this rewarding opportunity.Key Responsibilities• Implement instructional plans as determined by licensed teachers and therapists, adapting lesson modifications as needed to ensure students' learning objectives are met.• Prompt, cue, and redirect students to keep them on task, promoting a positive and productive learning environment.• Administer curriculum-based tests and quizzes, ensuring students have the necessary materials and completed assignments.• Provide physical care as needed, including diapering, toileting, feeding, and assisting with daily living skills.• Observe, document, and reinforce appropriate student behaviors, communicating activities to teachers and facilitators.• Participate in weekly team meetings to review student progress, plan upcoming lessons, and participate in trainings.• Assist with non-instructional activities, maintaining safety, behavior, decorum, and order in common areas.• Retrieve students from buses or cars at the start of classes and escort them to appropriate buses or cars at the end of classes when required.• Record and update students' progress toward achievement of individual educational plans.Essential QualificationsTo be successful in this role, you'll need:• A valid Educator License with Stipulations (PARA), Substitute License, or Professional Educator License.• Experience working with special education students, preferably in an elementary setting.• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and parents.• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.• Physical ability to lift students and perform other manipulations to assist with daily living skills.Preferred QualificationsWe're looking for candidates with:• Associate's degree or higher in a related field, such as special education or a related field.• Experience working with students with diverse learning needs, including autism, ADHD, and other special needs.• Knowledge of adaptive technology and assistive devices, with the ability to use them effectively in the classroom.• Fluency in a second language, with the ability to communicate effectively with students and families from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds.Skills and CompetenciesTo succeed in this role, you'll need:• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and parents.• Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.• Physical ability to lift students and perform other manipulations to assist with daily living skills.• Ability to work independently, stay on-task, and multitask in a fast-paced environment.Career Growth Opportunities and Learning BenefitsAt Workwarp, we're committed to supporting the growth and development of our employees.
