We are seeking an experienced Community Learning Center Project Manager to lead our 21st Century Community Learning Center Grant Program in the Schenectady City School District. Our district is undergoing a period of transformation, and we are seeking highly competent, motivated, dedicated, and fully engaged individuals to accept leadership roles throughout our schools and Central Office.ResponsibilitiesAs a Community Learning Center Project Manager, you will be responsible for the following:• Working closely with Child Guidance staff, administrators, and faculty to coordinate grant activities and staff to achieve the goals of the 21st Century Community Learning Center Grant Program.• Planning, implementing, and evaluating an integrated afterschool program that offers a menu of needs-driven, high-quality programs and services to students and families.• Supervising CCLC after-school teachers and CCLC summer program teachers and assisting them in evaluating and continuously improving conventional parent involvement programs and innovative collective parent empowerment and family support programs.• Coordinating with the Communications Officers for press releases and event publicity.• Organizing special events, including those celebrating the successes of the 21st Century Community Learning Center program.• Representing the community school in various public forums as needed and participating in advocacy activities to promote the initiative.• Conducting outreach to community partners and expanding and coordinating services as directed by the school principal.• Assisting the principal in developing firm connections with early childhood education providers and improving transition supports needed for students entering kindergarten and children moving on to middle school.• Attending program conferences and participating in professional development opportunities to stay current on best practices in program planning and administration.• Performing related work as required.RequirementsTo be successful in this role, you will need:• A bachelor's degree in education, social work, or a related field.• At least 3 years of experience in program planning, administration, and supervision, preferably in an educational setting.• Strong knowledge of the purposes, principles, terminology, and practices employed in program planning.• Good knowledge of educational programs and public information and public relations techniques.• Ability to adapt to various socio-economic groups and communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing.• Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with others.• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings.• Cultural sensitivity and organizational skill.• Strong public speaking and tact skills.Preferred QualificationsWhile not required, the following qualifications would be an asset:• Masters degree in education, social work, or a related field.• Experience working with diverse populations, including students with special needs.• Experience in grant writing and management.• Experience in program evaluation and assessment.• Knowledge of educational technology and its applications in program planning and administration.What We OfferAs a Community Learning Center Project Manager with the Schenectady City School District, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and forward-thinking organization that is committed to providing a world-class education to its students.
