As a hybrid instructor, you will have the opportunity to work from home and collaborate with our team in our remote office. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual who is committed to making a difference in the lives of our students.Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Bilingual Instructor, you will be responsible for:• Teaching Basic Communication courses levels 1-6, and GED classes in an accelerated GED program• Developing and teaching concepts and strategies for a variety of courses• Participating in division and department activities, including department and college functions, course and curriculum development, and staff development• Conducting open labs, student advising, student outcome assessment, and quality review assessment and implementation• Recruiting and retaining students, and promoting educational opportunities at MATC• Developing relationships with business and industry, and participating in program/department evaluation• Maintaining certification, continuing professional development, and staying current in the fieldEssential QualificationsTo be successful in this role, you will need:• A Bachelor's degree (required) or higher in English/Communication with a minimum of 18 semester credits in English/Communication Instruction• At least three (3) total years of teaching experience, including at least one (1) total year teaching English/Communication• At least one (1) year/2,000 hours of non-teaching experience• Language proficiency in both English and Spanish, with the ability to communicate effectively through oral and written meansPreferred QualificationsWhile not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable:• Experience in teaching and/or developing curriculum in a variety of classroom environments, including in-person and online• Experience using a variety of instructional methods, including face-to-face, blended, and 100% online• Working knowledge of computers and software related to instructional areas, including MS Office/Google Suite, data systems, mobile technologies, web conference tools, and social networking• Knowledge of, or willingness to learn, Blackboard or similar learning management system (LMS)• Knowledge or experience with engaged and service learning, assessment of student academic competency attainment, and relating successfully with students and staff of diverse cultural, social, and educational backgroundsSkills and CompetenciesTo succeed in this role, you will need to possess:• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, staff, and community partners• Excellent teaching and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team• Flexibility and adaptability, with the ability to adjust to changing circumstances and prioritiesCareer Growth Opportunities and Learning BenefitsAs a member of our team, you will have access to:• Professional development opportunities, including training and workshops to enhance your teaching skills and knowledge• Collaboration with experienced instructors and staff, providing opportunities for mentorship and growth• Access to cutting-edge technology and resources, including online learning platforms and educational software• Opportunities for career advancement and professional growth, including promotions and new rolesWork Environment and Company CultureAs a hybrid instructor, you will have the opportunity to work from home and collaborate with our team in our remote office.
