Our company culture values diversity, inclusion, and employee well-being, making us an employer of choice in the industry.Job Description and ResponsibilitiesAs a Maintenance Control Technician, you'll provide technical guidance and support to our maintenance team, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our aircraft. Your responsibilities will include:• Surveying and analyzing mechanical and operational performance of assigned fleet(s) or system(s)• Providing technical assessment and recommendations for resolving maintenance issues• Coordinating with maintenance personnel, vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure timely and effective maintenance• Managing the MEL/CDL/NEF/TAC process in accordance with the MOCPM• Planning requirements for field trips to non-maintenance stations• Updating delay data and DMR entries for non-maintenance• Evaluating open non-routine maintenance items on assigned fleet(s) or system(s) and developing plans to resolve recurring aircraft deficiencies• Monitoring system or engine performance/issue monitoring system and writing follow-up items to ensure the effectiveness of corrective action• Maintaining an up-to-date list of aircraft status (ETR) and communicating ETR and MEL information to the relevant IOC staff• Alerting the MOC Manager On Duty when issues arise that adversely affect system operations• Reviewing past mechanical interruptions and following up to ensure positive final corrective action• Maintaining and controlling all aspects of aircraft certifications and ensuring aircraft compliance• Performing other MOC duties as assignedEssential and Preferred QualificationsTo be successful in this role, you'll need:• A bachelor's degree in a relevant field (aviation, engineering, or a related discipline)• At least 3 years of experience as an Aviation Maintenance Technician on commercial or military aircraft• An FAA Airframe and Powerplant license• Knowledge of MEL, ETOPS, and GPM• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English (or the language native to the geographical area)• Ability to troubleshoot using wiring diagrams and system schematics• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills• Ability to work rotating shifts and overtime, including nights, weekends, holidays, and days off• Ability to travel for support of unavailable aircraft• Report to work on a regular and timely basis• Must satisfy FAA criminal background checks to qualify for unescorted access privileges to airport security ID display areas (SIDA)• Must successfully complete our drug screening process• Must be able to obtain appropriate airport authority and/or US Customs security badgesPreferred qualifications include:• Extensive Flight and/or Maintenance Control experience• Extensive Aircraft systems troubleshooting experienceCareer Growth Opportunities and Learning BenefitsAt American Airlines, we're committed to helping our employees grow and develop in their careers.
