Maintains the cleanliness and maintenance of EKG equipment. Performs all clerical duties dictated by leadership.EducationRequired – High school diploma or equivalent.CertificationsRequired – Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association.Preferred – Certified Cardiographic Technician (CCT).Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs)Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications.Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally.Strong interpersonal skills.Working knowledge of 12 Lead EKG tests.Ability to recognize arrhythmias accurately.Ability to work well under pressure, work independently, set priorities, and maintain strict confidentiality.Ability to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends, extended shifts, etc.Effective planning, judgment and decision making skills.Job DutiesPrepares, instructs and educates patients on the procedure.Performs diagnostic procedures.Documents and maintains patient records.Prepares work area.Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including but not limited to: respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions and communication style.Performs other related duties as required.Physical and Environmental DemandsThe physical essential functions of this job include (but are not limited to) the following: Frequently exerting 10 to 20 pounds of force to move objects; occasionally exerting up to 100 pounds of force.
