With 80+ years of history, Kaplan has been a beacon for expanding educational access and a leader in instructional innovation.RoleWe are looking for a remote Subject Matter Expert who will assist Kaplan's engineering team in developing material to prepare students for the NCIDQ Interior Design Certification examination. This is a remote opportunity with flexible hours (up to 20 per week).ResponsibilitiesThe responsibilities of the Contractor may include:• Writing quiz questions & practice exam questions in the style of NCIDQ examinations.• Writing study materials for any of the three separate NCIDQ exam sections: Fundamentals Exam (IDFX), the Professional Exam (IDPX), and the Practicum Exam (PRAC).• Quality assurance reviews, technical reviews, and erratum correction.• Contributing to suggested study plans, and providing feedback on customer expectations for study and preparation.Skill RequirementsThe candidate must:• Have excellent command of the English language - both verbal and written.• Have taken and passed within the last 7 years any section of the exam that they wish to contribute to.• Have exceptional attention to detail, organization skills, and time management skills• Provide prompt and responsive communication, mostly by email. Occasional video chat meetings during business hours may be required.• Be highly motivated and take initiative proactively.• Be receptive to feedback, meet deadlines, and take accountability for deliverables.Preferred SkillsThe candidate must:• Have experience tutoring/mentoring/educating Interior Design students or colleagues.• Have experience creating multiple-choice questions, study materials, PowerPoint presentations or other similar content.Hours & EmploymentThis is a contract (1099) position. Projects will be assigned via separate contracts with discrete schedules and deliverables.
