This is a great opportunity for individuals who are detail oriented and have a comprehensive knowledge of health or life insurance. Most of the consumer complaint review work is done independently with ample opportunities for collaboration with a larger team to discuss issues or policy questions as they arise. Organizational skills as well as the ability to clearly communicate compliance issues with companies are integral to the position.Principal Duties As a Consumer Service Insurance Specialist, you will:• Advocate for health or life insurance consumers to ensure insurance benefits are compliant and provide required consumer protections.• Assist consumers with questions and concerns by phone, through email, fax, or mail.• Effectively communicate with internal/external consumers verbally or in writing.• Review and set up health or life insurance complaints and independent review requests.• Coordinate workload with team members to ensure accurate and timely management of cases.Minimum QualificationsThe best qualified candidate for this position will have:• 2 or more years of experience in the health or life insurance industry including experience in:• insurance contract and product development;• claims administration;• consumer services; or• conflict resolution.• Knowledge of health or life insurance laws.• Strong, well-rounded computer and writing skills.• Ability to work both independently and within a team environment.• Ability to read, understand, apply, and explain federal and state laws.Preferred Qualifications• Individuals with both health or life insurance experience are preferred.• Individuals with experience in advocating for consumers are preferred.Why You Should Join Our TeamThis is an opportunity to make a difference by protecting Utah consumers by conducting a thorough review of insurance complaints for compliance with applicable laws.
