We are looking for a Senior Manager, Cybersecurity Research & Development, to lead a team of researchers and developers that are building the next generation of tools and technologies to enhance Comcast’s existing cybersecurity capabilities. The candidate’s team focuses on using AI to scale and automate cybersecurity use cases for Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC). The team works with stakeholders across GRC as well as those in legal and privacy. This role requires a strategic visionary who can identify gaps in current practices and work effectively with stakeholders to address these needs through innovative solutions.Job SummaryJob DescriptionResponsibilities:• Manage the lifecycle of R&D project from ideation to execution, including stakeholder engagement, market analysis, and project planning.• Supervise a team of researchers and developers, split between US and India, to enable a collaborative environment that encourages innovation and excellence in GRC innovation.• Collaborate with key stakeholders to prioritize initiatives and communicate progress and results effectively. Ensure alignment between R&D objectives and broader organizational goals.• Coordinate with the DevOps and Testing teams based in India to deploy scalable and resilient solutions.• Provide broader thought leadership through external presentation and papers.• Support IP generation as well as open-source efforts.• Oversee project timelines, resources, and budgets, ensuring efficient delivery and successful outcomes of research initiatives.• Identify areas for growth and prioritize investments based on risk reduction and cost-benefit analysis.• Stay abreast of the latest developments in cybersecurity, GRC, and AI to identify potential opportunities and limitations of automation.Core Qualifications• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, machine learning, or a related field with 5+ years of work experience OR PhD in computer science, information systems, or machine learning with 2-3 years of work experience.• Familiarity with Product Development, Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), and/or Agile Development.• Expertise in one of the following areas: Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC); AI product development; or Cybersecurity R&D.• Basic understanding of core cybersecurity concepts (e.g., confidentiality, integrity, availability; vulnerabilities; encryption; security protocols).• Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical ideas to diverse audiences.Preferred (but not required)• Experience leading or mentoring technical teams, especially in distributed or cross-time-zone environments with a preference in managing an R&D Team.• Experience managing research or product development teams.• Proficiency in a programming language (Python preferred).• Familiarity with tools like Git, AWS, and architectural design principles.• Experience building proofs of concept or contributing to open-source projects.• Knowledge of ServiceNow development or enterprise AI product development, especially with large language models (LLMs).Employees at all levels are expected to:• Understand our Operating Principles; make them the guidelines for how you do your job.• Own the customer experience - think and act in ways that put our customers first, give them seamless digital options at every touchpoint, and make them promoters of our products and services.• Know your stuff - be enthusiastic learners, users and advocates of our game-changing technology, products and services, especially our digital tools and experiences.• Win as a team - make big things happen by working together and being open to new ideas.• Be an active part of the Net Promoter System - a way of working that brings more employee and customer feedback into the company - by joining huddles, making call backs and helping us elevate opportunities to do better for our customers.• Drive results and growth.• Respect and promote inclusion & diversity.• Do what's right for each other, our customers, investors and our communities.Disclaimer:• This information has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed by employees in this role.
