Church Planting, Evangelism, and Discipleship SpecialistApplication Deadline: 1 October 2025Department: Resonate Global MissionEmployment Type: Full TimeLocation: InternationalDescription PURPOSE The Church Planting, Evangelism, and Discipleship Specialist for Indo-Pak and Afghani Diaspora will act as a catalyst and consultant for Resonate and partner organizations. This role focuses on sharing the gospel and strengthening the church among these diaspora populations by providing spiritual coaching, training, and networking in key cities across the Middle East, parts of Asia, Europe, and North America. The specialist will facilitate translation into Urdu and other major languages, helping these groups engage with the Christian Reformed Church ecosystem. They will also initiate new churches and train others in church planting and discipleship, serving as a valuable resource for national churches and organizations in these regions while promoting collaboration and prayer among CRCs and Resonate’s donors.The successful candidate must reside in one of the following U.S. states: California, New York, New Jersey, Texas, Illinois, or Michigan. Should you require any accommodation throughout the recruitment process please do not hesitate contacting our Human Resources Department.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following• Launch and support new church planting in Indo-Pak and Afghani diaspora communities in key global cities within North America, Europe, parts of Asia, and the Middle East regions.• Develop and implement culturally relevant evangelistic strategies to share the gospel across languages and worldviews.• Collaborate with diaspora leaders and local partners to establish contextualized Christian communities grounded in Scripture.• Promote a movement mindset that encourages the multiplication of churches and disciple-making networks.• Design and lead discipleship pathways that are accessible, reproducible, and culturally appropriate.• Mentor and equip emerging leaders within the diaspora for roles in church planting, evangelism, and community leadership.• Identify and empower second-generation leaders to sustain and expand local ministries.• Facilitate theological education and spiritual formation in relevant languages and formats.• Develop and deliver training modules on evangelism, church planting, and discipleship tailored to Indo-Pak and Afghani contexts.• Oversee the translation, contextualization, and distribution of materials in key languages (e.g., Urdu, Punjabi, Hindi, Pashto, Dari).• Collaborate with partners to create culturally resonant Bible studies, digital content, and discipleship resources.• Integrate these tools into the Resonate and CRC global ecosystems for broader impact.• Build and nurture strategic relationships with diaspora leaders, churches, and mission organizations.• Facilitate partnerships among churches, denominations, and mission partners to enhance ministry effectiveness.• Connect diaspora efforts with the wider Resonate/CRC network for shared learning and resource exchange.• Serve as a consultant to Resonate staff and partner organizations, engaging Indo-Pak and Afghani diaspora groups.• Provide spiritual coaching and practical ministry consultation to church planters and leaders.• Assist Resonate’s partner organizations in adapting their outreach and discipleship approaches for greater cultural effectiveness.• Monitor demographic trends and conduct ongoing research into diaspora needs, cultural dynamics, and best practices.• Advocate for diaspora engagement within the CRC and among donors and supporting churches.• Share compelling stories of transformation to mobilize prayer, financial support, and mission involvement.Supervisory ResponsibilitiesVolunteers, interns, and church planters.SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERTISE:QUALIFICATIONS• Professing membership in a Christian Reformed congregation, or of a church in communion with the CRCNA, and agreement with the doctrine of the church signified by signing a covenant statement.• Mature Christian faith and deep commitment to global mission and church multiplication.• Proven leadership in evangelism, church planting, and discipleship.• A deserved reputation for integrity and spiritual maturity.• Significant understanding of Scripture, a love for the Gospel, and a heart for the unreached.• Proven ability to collaborate with people from a variety of perspectives. Intercultural experience and competence.• Demonstrated capacity for creative innovation in complex situations with no predetermined map or plan.• Interest, calling, and experience in cross-cultural ministry, preferably in Middle Eastern and Asian contexts.• Fluency in English is required.• Knowledge of or willingness to learn South Asian languages (e.g., Urdu, Hindi, Pashto, Dari, Punjabi) is preferred.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE• Postgraduate degree (completed or in progress) in a relevant field of study.• Demonstrated experience in related ministry.• Evidence of international intercontinental networks, relationships, and influence.• History of leadership positions held and successfully maintained or developed.PHYSICAL DEMANDSThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
