Job Title: Accounting Manager (Part-Time, 20 hours/week) – 4-Month EngagementLocation: Remote optionDepartment: Finance & AccountingReports To: CFOPosition SummaryHerbal Goodness is seeking a detail-oriented Part-Time Accounting Manager for a 4-month engagement (18–20 hours per week). This role is responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting operations, managing financial reporting, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and supporting ERP system migration efforts. The ideal candidate will have experience across both manufacturing and e-commerce operations, with strong technical skills in QuickBooks Online (QBO), Synder, and Zoho.Key ResponsibilitiesDaily Accounting Operations & Vendor Management(50%)• Manage general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processing.• Oversee daily cash positions, bank reconciliations, and payment processing.• Process journal entries, account reconciliations, and maintain the chart of accounts.• Manage Synder mappings and resolve negative inventory issues.• Build and assemble inventory within QuickBooks Online.• Ensure adherence to accounting procedures and internal controls.• Handle vendor payments and collections through Melio.• Vendor management, purchase order management.• Inventory reconciliation monthly• Manage monthly Nigerian bank accounts and reconciliations via Zoho.Monthly/Quarterly Reporting (20%)• Lead month-end and quarter-end close processes within established deadlines.• Prepare financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) in accordance with GAAP.• Generate management reports for leadership decision-making.• Maintain fixed asset records, depreciation schedules, and capital expenditure tracking.• Coordinate with external auditors and manage audit documentation as needed.ERP System Management & Support (20%)• Execute comprehensive QBO data cleanup and preparation for ERP migration (chart of accounts, customer/vendor records, inventory data, historical transactions).• Provide user support, troubleshooting, and system maintenance.• Safeguard data integrity, system backups, and security protocols.• Validate migrated data accuracy and resolve data discrepancies.Compliance & Controls (10%)• Ensure tax compliance for Nigerian entities, including monthly VAT and annual filings.• Maintain internal controls over financial reporting.• Manage regulatory reporting requirements and filing deadlines.• Develop and update accounting policies and procedures.• Conduct internal control testing and remediate deficiencies.Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)• Month-End Close Timeline: Within 5 business days.• Financial Reporting Accuracy: 97.5% error-free.• Tax Filing Compliance: 100% on-time filings.• Cash Forecast Accuracy: 95% accuracy.• A/P Processing Time: Average
