Our stores are bustling hubs of the community where we provide expert service, top-quality stationery, and essential Post Office services to the local areas.

And we’re growing across London and the Home counties, with the takeover of 30 new Post Offices we're excited about the future for us, our customers and for you!

We’re looking for Retail & Post Office Assistants to join our teams and help deliver a fast, friendly, and expert customer experience every single day. If you thrive in a busy environment, enjoy helping people, and have a keen eye for detail, this could be the perfect role for you.

What You’ll Do:

  • Assist customers with Post Office transactions and stationery purchases.
  • Provide outstanding customer service with a friendly and professional approach.
  • Accurately handle cash and process payments.
  • Keep the store organised, well-stocked, and welcoming.
  • Work as part of a tight-knit team in a fast-paced retail environment.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Retail experience is a must – if you’ve worked in a busy store before, you’ll fit right in - we prefer a minimum of 2 years prior retail experience.
  • A positive attitude, great communication skills, and a genuine passion for customer service.
  • Post Office experience is great, but not essential – we’ll give you full training.
  • Strong numeracy skills and attention to detail – accuracy matters!
  • The right to work in the UK for at least 12 months from your start date.
  • The ability to lift and carry up to 12kg (those parcels don’t move themselves!).
  • You must be able to pass an enhanced DBS check.

What We Offer:

Full-time, permanent role with competitive pay & government recommended pension.

Comprehensive training – no Post Office experience needed
Fast-track career progression – we love to promote from within.
A fun, friendly, and supportive team environment.

This branch operates 7 days a week, so you'll be expected to work some weekend shifts on Saturdays and Sundays.
You may also be asked occasionally to work in a store within 15-30 minutes travel from this location to cover staff leave and sickness.

Our Culture

At UOE, our culture is shaped by three core values:

  • Expert & Trusted – We know our stuff and do what we say we’ll do.
  • Hub of the Community – We’re here for our customers and each other.
  • Surprisingly Fun! – We take our work seriously, but not ourselves.

These values guide everything we do — from how we work together to how we serve our community. We’re looking for people who not only have the skills for the role, but who also genuinely connect with what we stand for.

We’re also committed to building an inclusive and supportive workplace, where people of all backgrounds, identities, and abilities feel respected, valued, and able to thrive. If you need any reasonable adjustments during the application or interview process, just let us know — we’re here to help.
