Based at Waterstones Book Hub, Burton On Trent

We are looking for a Team Leader to join our friendly and dynamic team here at Waterstones Book Hub. You will lead a team of warehouse operatives to ensure objectives are achieved and accurate stock is delivered to bookshops and customers on time to enable a great experience for our customers.

What you will be doing

  • Manage your warehouse team including assigning tasks, monitoring absence and performance, providing general guidance and support.
  • Deliver effective briefs at the beginning of every shift to plan the work and motivate the team.
  • Manage inventory levels, ensuring accuracy and proper storage of goods and overseeing stock control systems.
  • Monitor and enforce compliance to maintain quality control and accuracy of inventory.
  • Promote a safety culture – adhering to health and safety policies and processes, ensuring a safe environment.
  • Identify areas for improvement and creating proposals to share with senior management.
  • Address and resolve problems that arise within the warehouse in collaboration with other teams.
  • Work with senior managers on identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Coach and mentor team members to develop a high performing team.
  • Leading by example and demonstrating the right behaviours.
  • Manage customer orders and handle their sensitive information in line with GDPR.
