Job Title: Personal Assistant / Driver (Support Role)

Location: Maidens

Hours: 5 hours per week (flexible, to be agreed with the employer)

Rate of Pay: £12.60 per hour

About the Role

We are looking for a friendly, reliable, and supportive individual to assist a gentleman with full capacity living in Maybole. The employer uses a wheelchair when out and about and requires the support of someone with access to a reliable vehicle.

This role is about enabling the employer to get out of the house, enjoy the local community, and explore new interests. The successful candidate will provide transport, companionship, and occasional personal care support when needed, such as assistance with using the toilet while out.

Main Duties

Provide safe and reliable transport using your own vehicle.

Assist with accessing local shops, community venues, and activities.

Offer companionship and encouragement in exploring new hobbies and social opportunities.

Support the employer in building confidence and friendships in the community.

Provide support with taking medication if out and about during the day, and continence care if/when required.

There is a cleaner employed but there is additional support required with light household tasks, i.e. folding and putting away laundry.

Person Specification

Essential:

Full driving licence and access to a reliable vehicle.

Friendly, patient, and supportive nature.

Reliable, trustworthy, and punctual.

Willingness to encourage social interaction and new activities.

Comfortable providing occasional personal care support.

Desirable:

Previous experience in a support, care, or companion role.

Knowledge of local community groups, clubs, or activities.

Additional Information

The employer does not use digital technology but has a mobile phone for essential communication.

Hours are flexible and to be agreed directly with the employer (total 5 hours per week).

This role is funded by the employer through Self Directed Support, and is focused on companionship, transport, light personal care, and community engagement.
