This role combines front-of-house responsibilities with assisting the clinical team in providing exceptional patient care.<br /><br />*Key Responsibilities:*<br /><br />*Receptionist Duties:*<br /><br />* Greet and welcome patients in a professional and friendly manner.<br />* Manage patient flow, ensuring a smooth and efficient clinic experience.<br />* Answer and direct phone calls promptly and professionally.<br />* Schedule and manage patient appointments.<br />* Book appointments and handle appointment requests effectively.<br />* Process patient payments accurately.<br />* Maintain accurate and confidential patient records.<br />* Ensure the reception area is clean, organized, and welcoming.<br />* Provide general administrative support to the clinic manager and team.<br /><br />*Ophthalmic Technician Duties:*<br /><br />* Perform a range of diagnostic tests on patients, including (training provided):<br />* Autorefractor<br />* Intraocular pressure measurements<br />* Corneal topography<br />* Optical coherence tomography<br />* Biometry<br />* Specular microscopy<br />* Focimeter<br />* Ideally, but not a must, prior optical experience is advantageous.<br />* Assist medical staff with patient examinations as required.<br />* Maintain and troubleshoot ophthalmic equipment.<br />* Adhere to all relevant health and safety guidelines.<br /><br />*General Support Duties:*<br /><br />* Answer patient inquiries and address concerns.<br />* Confirm appointments and provide appointment reminders.<br />* Register patients on the electronic system.<br />* Assist with annual leave coverage and other administrative tasks.<br />* Prepare clinic lists and patient files.<br />* Perform other ad-hoc reception and support duties as needed.<br /><br />*Essential Skills:*<br /><br />* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.<br />* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).<br />* Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to multitask effectively.<br />* Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.<br />* Ability to work independently and as part of a cohesive team.<br />* Professional demeanor and excellent patient care experience.<br />* Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.<br />* Ideally, but not a must, prior experience as a Patient Liaison or in a similar role would be advantageous.<br /><br />*Desirable Skills:*<br /><br />* Prior experience in the ophthalmic industry.<br />* Knowledge of relevant ophthalmic procedures and terminology.<br /><br />*Benefits:*<br /><br />* Competitive salary<br />* Company pension plan<br />* Bereavement leave<br />* Professional development<br /><br />*Schedule:*<br /><br />* Full-time or Part-time positions available (to be discussed)<br />* Monday to Friday (Occasional Saturdays)<br /><br />*To Apply:*<br /><br />Please submit your resume and a cover letter detailing your relevant experience.<br /><br />*Job Types:* Full-time, Part-time<br /><br />*Pay:* £27,000.00 per year<br /><br />*Experience:*<br /><br />* Customer service: 2 years (Required)<br />* Administrative experience: 2 years (Required)<br /><br />*Language:*<br /><br />* English (Required)<br /><br />*Work Location:* In-person<br /><br />Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent<br /><br />Pay: £27,000.00 per year<br /><br />Benefits:<br />* Company pension<br /><br />Work Location: In person
