<p id="isPasted">Seattle City Light, a department of the City of Seattle, is one of the nation’s largest municipally owned utilities in terms of the number of customers served. Today, City Light is a recognized national leader in energy efficiency and environmental stewardship. </p><p>We are seeking to hire Journey-level Lineworkers to work out of the North and South Service Centers in the Transmission & Distribution Operations Division. These positions are responsible for constructing, installing, repairing, troubleshooting and maintaining electrical power systems, transmission, distribution and non-network underground systems, and street lighting systems. These positions will report to the Electrical Construction and Maintenance Supervisor.  </p><ul style="margin-bottom: 3pt;" id="isPasted"><li>Perform skilled work in the construction and maintenance of electrical power transmission and distribution systems (4.1 KV and 26 KV).</li><li>Set, raise and guy wooden poles, using climbers and belts.</li><li>Operate bucket trucks to install and maintain overhead systems.</li><li>Test, troubleshoot and repair defective circuits.</li><li>Work Splice overhead and underground wire and cable.</li><li>Install conductors in conduit and pan trenches.</li><li>Work on energized lines and equipment using rubber protective devices or hotline tools.</li><li>Trains and instructs Lineworker Apprentices, Line Helpers and other crew members.</li><li>Performs other related duties of a comparable level/type as assigned.</li></ul><p id="isPasted"><strong>Required Qualifications:</strong></p><p><strong>Experience:  </strong>Requires successful completion of a lineworker apprenticeship program, including two years experience working with 2200 VAC or above (or a combination of education and/or training and/or experience which provides an equivalent background required to perform the work of the class).</p><p><strong>Work Environment and Physical Demands:</strong></p><ul style="margin-bottom: 3pt;"><li>Work is performed outdoors in all types of weather.</li><li>Work is performed at varying heights, in and around high voltage and energized equipment, in construction areas, and around moving traffic.</li><li>Work requires prolonged physical exertion and lifting of objects that weigh more than 50 pounds.</li><li>Requires working evenings, weekends, holidays and long hours during emergency and outage situations.</li></ul><p><strong>Certification/License: </strong>Driver License with a Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class “A” endorsement.</p><br><p><strong>Desired Qualifications: </strong></p><ul><li><p>Three years of journey-level experience in line construction. </p></li></ul><p id="isPasted"><em>Please note this job advertisement is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
