<p>Irwin Mitchell are a national law firm with international capability. They have 14 offices throughout the UK and are the 19th largest law firm in the UK.</p> <p>You can become an apprenticeparalegalorchartered legal executive. You can also train to work inaccountancyorbusiness administration.</p> <p><strong>Paralegal</strong></p> <p>Their Paralegal Apprenticeship Programme is a 24 month programme and gives you the opportunity to begin a legal career and gain first-hand experience working within real legal teams. As part of the apprenticeship you’ll study for the Level 3 Certificate in Law and Practice , and the costs of this will be met through Government sponsorship.</p> <p>The academic part of the apprenticeship is delivered by CILEx Law School via distance learning.</p> <p>You’ll need five GCSEs at grade A* to C, specifically Maths and English. You’ll also need three A Levels Grade C or above.</p> <p>Apprenticeships are available in Birmingham, Leeds, London and Sheffield offices. Depending on the location, you could join teams in:</p> <ul> <li>personal injury</li> <li>corporate</li> <li>commercial litigation</li> <li>employment</li> <li>real estate</li> </ul> <p><strong>Chartered Legal Executive</strong></p> <p>As an Apprentice Chartered Legal Executive, you can specialise in one or two areas of the law and earn an industry-recognised legal qualification.</p> <p>During the 5-year apprenticeship, you’ll be responsible for a range of tasks, including:</p> <ul> <li>Managing your own caseload</li> <li>Assisting on other cases</li> <li>Performing legal research.</li> </ul> <p>You’ll learn practical client care and legal research skills, as well as several law and practice units tailored to your area of law.You’ll receive the CILEx Level 6 Higher Diploma in Law and Practice when you finish the apprenticeship. This certifies you as a fully-qualified Chartered Legal Executive.</p> <p><b>Entry Requirements:</b></p> <p>You’ll need:</p> <ul> <li>Either a Paralegal apprenticeship (CILEx Level 3) or a Law degree</li> <li>Three A Levels at Grade C or above</li> <li>Five GCSEs at Grade A* to C (or grade 9-4 on the numbered system).</li> </ul>
