To lead sessions and oversee students carrying out practical exercises. To offer assistance, as appropriate, including the provision of detailed explanations of how the activity relates to the wider area of study.<br><br><strong>Main Duties And Responsibilities<br><br></strong><ul><li>To lead classes/sessions in the subject specialism on the demonstration of whatever [both small groups and one-to-one] and to answer questions related to those demonstrations, including the provision of detailed explanations of how the activity relates to the wider area of study.</li><li>To assist/give guidance, where required, to students who are carrying out practical exercises.</li><li>To be aware of any health and safety implications, and take action to maintain a safe environment, raising any concerns with the course organiser.</li><li>To contribute to the development of teaching material and workbooks.</li><li>Where required, to assist in marking student tests set by the course organiser using defined marking criteria where marking requires little or no interpretation.</li><li>Where required, to provide factual feedback to students and the course organiser.</li><li>Where required, to ensure that equipment, exercise or process is functional and/or material for demonstrations, exercises etc is prepared before the start of a session.</li><li>Engage in continuing professional development activities as appropriate.</li><li>Undertake any other reasonable duties as required by the Head of School.</li><li>To contribute to the enhancement of the University’s international profile in line with the University’s Strategic Plan, World Changers Together<br><br></li></ul><strong>Qualifications<br><br></strong><ul><li>SCQF Level 10 [Honours degree] in a relevant subject or a cognate discipline, or equivalent</li><li>Knowledge, Skills and Experience</li><li>Expert knowledge of relevant subject</li><li>Awareness of learning outcomes of course Previous experience of demonstrating to students.</li></ul>
