About Us

Unit One Gym is more than just a fitness facility – it's a thriving community hub combining high-quality training with social spaces designed for connection and wellbeing. Alongside our gym, we operate Unity Coffee & Nutrition, a café dedicated to fuelling our members and the local community with great coffee, snacks, and nutrition-focused options.

We are looking for a friendly, reliable, and motivated individual to join our team as a Barista & Gym Reception Team Member, supporting both the café and front-of-house gym operations.

Key ResponsibilitiesBarista – Unity Coffee & Nutrition

  • Prepare and serve high-quality coffee, teas, smoothies, and snacks to customers.
  • Provide excellent customer service, building rapport with members and visitors.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the café area, following hygiene and food safety standards.
  • Support stock management, including restocking supplies and reporting low stock to supervisors.
  • Represent the Unity Coffee brand as part of the wider Unit One community.

Gym Reception & Customer Experience – Unit One Gym

  • Welcome members and guests, creating a positive first impression.
  • Ensure the gym reception and facility are clean, tidy, and presentable at all times.
  • Learn and use our club membership software to support with:
  • Member check-ins
  • Booking and payment queries
  • Reception-based sales (e.g. memberships, class packs, merchandise).
  • Assist with day-to-day operational tasks, reporting any maintenance or cleanliness issues promptly.
  • Work with the wider team to maintain a friendly, safe, and supportive environment for members.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Barista experience (essential): confident in preparing and serving a variety of coffee-based drinks.
  • Customer service experience (essential): approachable, positive, and professional manner.
  • Gym/fitness environment experience (desirable): interest in health, fitness, and wellbeing.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask across café and reception duties.
  • Reliable, punctual, and a team player.
